Thermal conductivity and thermal shock resistance of TiB2-basedUHTCs enhanced by graphite platelets

چکیده

TiB2-SiC-C and TiB2-TiC-C heteromodulus ceramics were sintered by reactive hot pressing of TiC-B4C-Si TiC-B4C precursors at 1830 °C 30 MPa. Sintering time the maximum temperature was between 2 8 min. The reactions in green body create submicron (100–400 nm) TiB2 crystals inside silicon carbide grains as well BxSiyCz nanofibers, which nucleate near SiC surfaces. Low hardness graphite platelets are formed within hard matrix during in-situ exothermic reaction. “Soft-hard” grain combination produces substantially improved fracture toughness (up to 9 MPa m1/2). materials also demonstrate high thermal conductivity 120 W/m∙K) shock resistance. crack growth is arrested platelets.

Colloidal graphite/graphene nanostructures using collagen showing enhanced thermal conductivity

In the present study, the exfoliation of natural graphite (GR) directly to colloidal GR/graphene (G) nanostructures using collagen (CL) was studied as a safe and scalable process, akin to numerous natural processes and hence can be termed "biomimetic". Although the exfoliation and functionalization takes place in just 1 day, it takes about 7 days for the nano GR/G flakes to stabilize. The predo...

Thermal Contact Resistance and Thermal Conductivity of a Carbon Nanofiber

We have measured the thermal resistance of a 152-nm-diameter carbon nanofiber before and after a platinum layer was deposited on the contacts between the nanofiber and the measurement device. The contact resistance was reduced by the platinum coating for about 9–13% of the total thermal resistance of the nanofiber sample before the platinum coating. At a temperature of 300 K, the axial thermal ...
